If you spend your time trying to explain why the Bible does not say what it appears to be saying, there is a very good chance the Bible does not say what you think it says.
Explanation
The Bible is not a hard collection of writings to read or understand. There are certainly some hard parts to it. We need to strive to understand the Bible on its own terms rather than trying to figure out ways around them.
