Children are only responsible for their obedience, not for their parents’ parenting.
Explanation
Every person has the will, the agency, to determine what they will be within their nature. Every person is responsible to God for what he does. You will not be judged according to the works of your parents, whether they helped or hindered you along the way.
You will be judged according to what you do within the circumstances the Lord has placed you, which includes your parents, be they good or bad or indifferent.
- If your parent did not teach you right and wrong, you are still responsible for every right and wrong you commit. Ignorance is no excuse for lawbreaking.
- If your parents harmed and abused you, you are responsible to overcome any hindrance, any stumbling block, they put in your path.
There is no harm or hindrance given to you by parents or anyone else that cannot be overcome for good through Christ.
So overcome.
