Of all the inventions of mankind, the whiteboard is the most remarkable. 🤣

I have had four offices since being a full-blown professional. One at the University, where I had a very nice 4’x8’ porcelain on steel whiteboard. One where I had no whiteboard. And two home offices. One home office had an 7’x8’ floor-to-ceiling whiteboard covering one entire wall. My current office is large and previously had larger and has a 7’x20’ whiteboard covering one entire wall. I was forced to take it down when I had some major foundation work done and after, I purchased for myself a very nice glass and steel 4’x6’ one.

Of all my jobs, can you guess which I liked least? The one where the employer refused to put a whiteboard in my cubicle, of course. My home office has always featured at least one prominent whiteboard.

I think best on the wall or on paper. Very often when hashing through something I am working on I will just write it out in text on the wall. It helps crystallize my thoughts and often reveals flaws that remain hidden within my internal imagination.

The next best thing to a whiteboard is dot graph paper and fountain pens, Zebra brand disposable fountain pens are my current go to for low cost fountain pens and Rhodia Goalbooks for graph paper.
